Moments with the Mogos

Both of us became Christians as teenagers in Romania, our home country, not many years after the fall of Communism. However, we come from very different backgrounds: I, Ben, am the sixth generation in a family of devoted Evangelical Christians while Anda’s father was a convinced Communist before he became a Christian himself.

During our high school years, the Lord called both of us to full time ministry. To prepare for that, we both attended a four year long Bible College in Bucharest and we got married towards the end of our studies there. For about five years we helped with the planting of a new church in Bucharest, two of which I served as a full time assistant pastor.

We left that church in order to move to the States and attend Dallas Theological Seminary for four years. There I got a Master of Theology in Christian Education, and Anda got a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling. Our home church during this time was Stonebriar Community Church pastored by Chuck Swindoll; they officiated my ordination for ministry in May 2010.

Upon graduation from Dallas Theological Seminary in the summer of 2010, we moved back to Romania fully convinced that God was calling us to plant a new Christ honoring, gospel centered, and grace oriented church in Bucharest.

Soon afterwards, we started Agape Church as a Bible study in our living room with five other people. By God's grace, this church plant has grown to several dozen people meeting on Sunday mornings for public worship. In addition, Agape has several home groups meeting in homes during the week. Read more about Agape Church, here.

Since 2012, we also have the privilege of representing Insight for Living in Romania. I'm honored to be their field pastor and Chuck Swindoll's "voice" in my home country.

We have been married for more than ten years and we have one son named David.

“I can highly recommend to you the ministry of Ben and Anda Mogos. They are a wonderfully gifted and called couple to use their lives in full time ministry in their homeland, Romania. It has been a delight to serve the Lord beside them while in their studies stateside.”
